
Indradeep is a distinguished figure in the realm of Indian Classical music, renowned for his mastery of the violin. He is among the rare Indian Classical Violinists and the sole Indian Classical Violist, captivating audiences with his extraordinary custom-made five-string Violin and Viola. Inspired by the Norwegian Hardanger fiddle, this exceptional instrument, featuring eight sympathetic strings, bestows upon his performances a richer tone and resonating effect.
Having graced stages across the globe, Indradeep’s musical journey is marked by notable appearances at renowned events. He has enthralled audiences at the 10th Asia Festival in Barcelona, the SXSW music festival in Austin, USA, the Learn Quest Music Festival in Boston, USA, the Tansen-Tyagaraja Music and Dance Festival in Rajahmundry, India, the Festival Du Bout Du Monde in France, the YOMAD Festival in Croatia, and the Yoga—Vidya Music Festival in Germany, among others. In his artistic pursuits, he has collaborated with esteemed musicians from the Western tradition, including Grammy-winning Kora player Mama Dou Diabate, renowned rock band drummer Steve Smith, versatile flutist Pedro Eustache, and jazz organist Tony Monaco, showcasing his versatility and cross-genre appeal.
Indradeep’s musical influence extends far and wide, with performances that have spanned the European continent, encompassing countries such as Germany, France, Austria, Luxembourg, Spain, Denmark, Croatia, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. As an “A” grade artist of All India Radio, he continues to mesmerize audiences, regularly contributing his talents to national radio and TV channels in India. With numerous classical and fusion music albums to his credit, he has left an indelible mark on the industry. Notably, he holds the distinction of being the first Indian Violinist to release a commercial Viola (Bass Violin) album titled “Tribute to Miyan Tansen on Viola.” Additionally, his collaborative efforts have earned recognition, with the album “Melodic Intersect: One Vision” winning the Akademia Music Award from Los Angeles in January 2016.
Beyond his musical endeavors, Indradeep has also embraced diplomatic and humanitarian roles. He has been appointed as Consul General and Chancellor General for South Asia by the International Commission of Diplomatic Relations Human Rights and Peace, an Inter-Governmental Organization of UN DESA. Moreover, he holds the esteemed positions of Goodwill Messenger of Peace, Arts and Culture, and Chancellor for South Asia in the International Special Court of Arbitration and Human Rights, an Autonomous Arbitration Institution of the UN-IGO, ICC-ICA & ICJ.
